Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Royal Infirmary Edinburgh Hospital.
Applications are invited for the post of Advanced Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE). This post will run for one year from August 2026.
This is a one year advanced clinical fellowship post for a gastroenterology trainee who has completed their basic gastroenterology training and is independently competent in routine upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy (including endotherapy for acute upper GI bleeding and level 2 polypectomy) as well as clinical work, and who wishes to obtain advanced endoscopic training in EUS and ERCP.
The advanced Clinical Fellow at RIE will spend around 50% of their job plan on service commitment (e.g. clinic and diagnostic endoscopy) and the remaining time is focused around training in hepatobiliary endoscopy (ERCP/EUS). The postholder may be required to participate in the Gastroenterology out of hours on call rota. This post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.
