Job overview

Part time (30 h/week) Administration Coordinator in the Neurology department. Responsible for managing administrative processes of Day Care and Inpatient admissions.

Main duties
  • Monitor and review the team email inbox
  • Correspond with patients via telephone, letter, and email regarding their care and admission
  • Liaise with clinical teams and other hospital departments (e.g., Neurophysiology, Radiology)
  • Establish good relationships with medical and nursing staff, allied health professionals
  • Manage patient bookings and maintain accurate records using the Trust's electronic system (Epic)
  • Support and maintain patient flow through the hospital
  • Attend the site bed meeting
  • Arrange hotel bookings for patients
  • Participate in monthly team meetings
Knowledge and qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with Grade C or above in English and Maths
  • Knowledge of full range of administrative procedures, acquired through training and previous experience
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and the Data Protection Act
  • NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration, Customer Service, Healthcare Support Services or equivalent qualification
Experience
  • Experience in a non routine environment, with demonstrable problem solving skills
  • Experience in a customer facing environment, resolving queries and using initiative to ensure first class service
  • Previous NHS or healthcare setting experience
Eligibility

Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom or meet the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route.

Other requirements

Access to vulnerable people - subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) and Order 2020. Submission for Disclosure to the DBS required.
